The Continuing Education Center (CEC) at Dhofar University (DU) provides access to the educational resources of the University and offers quality educational programs to meet the ongoing professional and personal needs of Dhofar’s adult community at large. It is dedicated to stimulating the generation of training modules in order to serve individuals in the private and public sectors in new and innovative ways. It offers solutions to training needs and provides its community with the combined support of a professional staff and the many resources of DU.
On-campus and off-campus offerings include certificate programs, workshops, seminars, conferences, and customized training programs to meet the needs of individuals and organizations. All CEC’s certificate programs, workshops, and other activities are taught by leading experts who bring their hands-on experience into the classroom. Programs and courses are offered in English or Arabic as reflected by the course outline.
The programs of CEC are developed to create an opportunity for strengthening and updating skills and learning new techniques for achieving personal and organizational goals. It is our vision to prepare participants in our programs for a world of change. An investment in CEC will prepare participants and their organizations for success. Our approach is innovative: participants gain insight not just information in subjects where others focus on technical skills alone. We develop programs in areas where DU is unique in the deep expertise of our faculty.

The CEC aspires to become a community development center for excellence by providing top quality education, training, and community development programs which satisfy the needs of a diverse population of adult learners and employees in both the public and private sectors in Oman, and at a later stage, in the entire Gulf region.

The mission of CEC is to serve both as an administrative support service to the University community and as a catalyst to extend university resources to meet the lifelong learning needs of people in Dhofar and the rest of the country.

It is the goal of CEC to strive for the highest degree of excellence in instruction, provide the comfort and atmosphere conducive to the adult learner’s preferences and expectations, and design timely, applicable, and professionally relevant programs at an affordable cost.
As an extension of DU, CEC encourages lifelong learning by providing opportunities for personal and professional growth. A wide selection of non-credit courses, certificate programs, and workshops designed to meet the community’s special educational needs is available year-round through CEC. It will be expected to pursue the following objectives: · Assisting various sectors in Salalah and the Dhofar region in accessing world-class expertise. · Offering programs designed to meet the personal and professional needs of individuals in the community. · Helping participants in developing new skills and/or updating current degrees. · Serving the human resource needs of organizations in Oman. · Accelerating the process of job localization in Oman.
