General Regulations

1)  An applicant shall fill an application form and attach with it the following:

·        Three recent photos 3x4cm.

·        Qualification (last certificate award)

·        Nomination letter/ financial grantee if he/she is employed.

·        A copy of identity card/ passport

·        A residence permit ( for non-Omanis )

2)  Applications for registration will be considered only if accompanied by all the required documents. All documents become the   

           property of Dhofar University and will not be returned to applicants.      

 

3)     All students / trainees are expected to abide by the rules and regulations of the University.                                                                              

4)     Attendance at all classes is required. A student /a trainee who is absent one-fourth the number of sessions of a course will not be        entitled to a final grade/ certificate for that course.

 

5)     The CEC follows the Dhofar University calendar with respect to holidays. 

 

6)      Every student/trainee will be issued an ID, which entitles him/her to be on DU premises.

 

7)     In case the student loses his/ her ID card that he/ she gets upon regestration, he/ she is not entitled to received a new one.          

 

8)     Attestations are only issued after successful completion of the course.

 

9)     Private students / trainees have to pay 50 % of their course fees in advance, and 50% half-way through the course.  For public and private sector employees, a fee payment schedule can be arranged between DU and their organizations.

 

10) DU may postpone or cancel a course if there are less that 10 students / trainees registered, or if there are contradictions with

      existing University courses.

 

11) If, for justifiable reason(s), a student/trainee decides to withdraw from a course or from courses in which he/she already registered,

        fees are refunded according to the following schedule: 

Time of withdrawal                                        Fees refunded

Prior to the beginning of classes                       75%

During first week of classes                               50%

During the second week of classes                  25%

 

Requests for refunds are NOT accepted after the second week of classes. The registration fee, which is OR10, is NOT refundable. Student/trainee may be refunded only after submitting his/her receipt, ID, and completed the withdrawal form provided by CEC.

 

12)   Participants in CEC courses are entitled to use DU computer Labs, multi-media center and other university facilities. However, they

        cannot check out books from the library.

 

13)   The weekly class schedule will be announced at the beginning of each session.
