On May 30 and 31, the Center for Teaching and Leaning at DU in collaboration with the American University of Beirut held a two-day workshop on “Developing Program and Course Learning Outcomes”. The 38 attendees consisted of chairs of all the departments at DU as well as other faculty members. In this workshop, the attendees and through various group activities were able to describe the characteristics of a department’s mission, program, and learning outcomes and review and revise their own. In doing so, the departments ensure that their mission, program, and learning outcomes aligns with and supports the university’s mission.

The Vice Chancellor attended all the sessions and urged the attendees to review and improve all existing mission and program statements in their department as it builds evidence for accountability, accreditation and improvement.
