Members of the Social Committee from DU visited Al Nahdha Library which is located in the Directorate of Heritage and Culture. As part of the activities organized for the Committee in the academic year 2007-2008, student members of the Committee under the supervision of Ms. Ameera Al Helo organized a schedule of visits aimed at the definition of the most important cultural institutions in the province of Dhofar. Al Nahdha Library is the only real library in the Dhofar Governorate and includes a wide variety of books, including encyclopedias, and cultural and academic books. There are also several sections, including the history section, which covers the history of the Arab world in general and the Sultanate of Oman in particular. In addition, they have a children's section which includes a variety of educational books aiming to develop their skills in general and contribute to the improvement of their thinking and intellect. Al Nahdha library receives visitors during the weekdays from Saturday to Wednesday, from 7:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., and from 5:00 to 10:00 p.m. The library has special places both for reading and meetings.
