Ameera Al Helo Dr. Ahmed Al Mashani

As an indication of the continuing mutual cooperation between Dhofar University and the General Directorate of Education, Ms. Ameera Al Helo, Student Advisor at DU, presented a paper entitled “Managing Individual and Group Advising Sessions” at the Training Center on the 17th of March 2007, as part of a training program organized for social specialists that has been adopted by the Directorate. Ms. Al Helo told those assembled that this workshop was one of the most important ones for the 80 Social Specialists who work in the regional schools, since it teaches these specialists how to solve many of the students’ academic, social and even mental problems. The topics discussed in the workshop were the definitions of individual and group advising, the related goals, methods, and applications and how to manage advisory sessions to serve the welfare of the students. On the last day of the workshops, Dr. Ahmed Al Mashani, Assistant to Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs, presented a paper entitled “Morals and Skills in Career Guidance”.
