DU Participates in Conference in Portugal

The use of Information Technology is changing the way how organizations & teams work. Functioning of organizations and teams in a business environment is possible by adequate use of Information Technology. Evolution of web technologies, small display devices as well as mobile and groupware systems is transforming interaction between people either in working or in entertainment environments.


Various pieces of research, especially in the following areas have been highlighted:
Multimedia, Web & Education, Digital Libraries, e-Government & e-Democracy, Knowledge Management, Web Evaluation, ERP-Enterprise Resource Planning.

The conference had a double-blind review process and was held on May 19 and 20th in Parque das Nações, Lisbon, Portugal. All accepted papers published in the proceedings under an ISBN.

Mr. Biju Sayed presented the paper entitled “Amalgamating Social Information Systems – An archetype to increase the market value and achieve quality results”. The paper focused on the integration of social information systems with knowledge management systems. The author presented a model where the social information scope, when amalgamated with the working process of professionals (since personal factors and social values are very important and exciting for working with one team as the individual's requirement would change at any point of time) demonstrates an affirmative end result in smooth and effective delivery of the managements view to handle them. To consider the personal factors and appreciate the social values of a professional, the implementation of social information with a unique concept of knowledge management is demonstrated to successfully manage the employees. The author recommended that those talented & ambitious professionals who could effectively develop their skills & ability to practice their professions would strive to overcome obstacles resulting in self satisfaction and ultimately produce successful quality results which simultaneously increase the marketing value of an organization.

Mr. Biju Sayed also chaired a session on web technology that involved pieces of research related to the following: Web Technology for Engineering and Computer Science Learning, Assessing Websites, and Web-Voting (Evaluating Social Acceptance).
