DU’s Muhammad Yousoof presents paper at Cambridge University

Mr. Muhammed Yousoof, a faculty member in the Mathematics and IT Unit of the Foundation Program Unit at Dhofar University presented a paper entitled "Proposed Framework to Manage Cognitive Load in Computer Program Learning" which is co-authored by Prof. Mohd Sapiyan, Dean of the Faculty of Computer Science, University of Malaya and Assistant Prof. Dr. Ramasamy from the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department in the College of Engineering at Dhofar University.  It was presented at the 7th WSEAS International Conference on “Artificial Intelligence, Knowledge Engineering and Data Bases” (AIKED'08) held at Cambridge University, UK, from February 20-22, 2008.

The conference at Cambridge University received more than 820 papers, from which, after strict review, 386 were selected for publication. The presenters were from many countries around the world, including the USA, UK, Spain, Oman, Korea, India, Malaysia, UAE, Poland, Romania, Kuwait, China, etc.

Some of the plenary lectures included were by Prof. Lotfi A. Zadeh, University of California at Berkeley, Prof. Janusz Kacprzyk, Polish Academy of Sciences, Poland, Prof. Angel Kuri-Morales from the Instituto Tecnologico Autonomo de Mexico, Mexico, Prof. Colin Fyfe from the University of the West of Scotland, UK, Prof. Zhaohui Luo, Univ. of London, UK, and Prof. Anna Walaszek-Babiszewska, Opole University of Technology, Poland.

The proceedings of the conference are indexed in widely known indexes such as ISI (ISINET) INSPEC (IET, Former IEE) CSA (Cambridge Scientific Abstracts) ELSEVIER and Elsevier Bibliographic Database and Zentralblatt… etc.

This research paper presentation was supported by Dhofar University through its University Research Board (URB) grant. Mr. Muhammed Yousoof thanked the University for their extended support in presenting his paper at the world renowned Cambridge University. He added that such chances help to build relationships with fellow researchers from other universities and also help to keep up with the latest developments in the field of Computer Science.
