Dhofar University Prepares for
a New Semester

Welcoming Committee

Dhofar University recently received a new batch of students who will be joining the University during the second term of the academic year 2007/2008. They all took placement tests in English, Math and IT on Saturday the 9th of February, 2008, after they were received by the welcoming team, whose job is to make sure that the students find their way to the exam hall and to answer any questions they might have. By taking the placement tests, the University is able to determine at which level the student should commence his or her studies. It is crucial that all new students study English for at least one semester, since most of the courses at DU are taught in English. However, some students are able to enter their major immediately if they have a very high score in the English test. The actual registration procedure for the courses will take place between the 16th and 20th of February, 2008 and classes start on the 23rd.
