Honoring students

On Saturday, May 5th, Dhofar University held a ceremony to honor the students who had participated in the many activities connected with ‘Culture Week’ 2007 which had taken place under the logo 'Sailing in Creativity'. For months before the ceremony, students had worked long and hard to produce the wonderful week of events, which included musical and theatrical events, poetry readings, lectures, and an extraordinary array of exhibitions, which were a very important part of the activities, since they reflected in real life what the students had learned in their classrooms and workshops. At the event which had launched Culture Week a week earlier, His Excellency Sheikh Salim bin Aufait Al Shanfari, Chairman of the Municipality of Dhofar Province and the sponsor of the opening ceremony expressed his admiration at the activities, which were distinctive, interesting and varied. This ceremony, which was held in Ibn Rushd Theater was an occasion when the students were shown appreciation for all their efforts to make Culture Week a real success.
