Launching of CCNA Discovery Curriculum

The director of the Computing and Networking Services (CNS) Department at Dhofar University, with the help of the Continuing Education Center (CEC) announces the launch of the Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)® Discovery curriculum that will take place in February, 2008.

Dhofar University has been designated as the local Cisco academy for the Salalah region. In this role, DU will be managing the online relationship among its students, outside candidates and the Cisco Networking Academy Program. Businesses and individuals may choose Dhofar University as a Certified Cisco Academy Institution for Salalah region through the Cisco website.

When it comes to quality instruction in a lab setting, CNS department in DU is the leader. The University will offer the CCNA Discovery curriculum at flexible times and at the same location, which will give everyone the advantage of a better academic and teaching environment. DU continues to provide valuable learning tools through the CNS Department, which continues to create the finest and most rewarding environment possible for the students.

The CCNA® Discovery curriculum provides foundational networking knowledge, practical experience, opportunities for career exploration, and soft-skills development all of which will help Dhofar University students, staff and other candidates to prepare for entry-level careers in IT and networking. The curriculum offers a hands-on approach to learning, and uses interactive tools and easy-to-follow labs to help candidates learn the general theory and practice needed to build networks. It is worth mentioning that this program is designed for students with basic PC user skills.
