As part of the process of reviewing the educational programs at universities in the Sultanate, a delegation from the Ministry of Higher Education paid a two day visit to Dhofar University on Saturday and Sunday, the 15th and 16th of December. The members of the delegation were Dr. Khamis Al Balushi, Deputy Director of Private Universities and Colleges and General Manager for Programs and Quality Assurance, Mr. Shabib Al Shabibi, Deputy Manager of Quality Assurance Department, Musalam Al Ma’amari, Director of Supportive Requirements Section, and Shafeeq Al Ibri, Technical Member in Educational Services. The program for the visit included meetings with the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Mohammed Faour, and with the Deans of the Colleges and senior administrative staff as well as students. The members of the delegation also toured the various Colleges, the Foundation Program Unit, the library and administrative sections. The visit was part of the Ministry’s continuing program of making visits to all institutions of higher education in Oman in order to improve the general level of education.
