Dhofar University participated recently in the
Annual General Meeting of the Oman Quality Network
(OQN) which took place on Wednesday 30 May, 2007
under the auspices of H.E. Dr. Rawya Saud Al Busaidia,
Minister of Higher Education and Patron of the
Oman Quality Network. Dhofar University was represented
in this meeting by Dr. Saouma BouJaoude, the Academic
Overseer, and Mrs. Annie Lajinian, the Director
of the Foundation Program. The agenda of the Annual
General Meeting included an address by H.E. Dr.
Rawya Al Busaidia, which was delivered by H.E.
Dr. Abdullah Al Sarmi, Under Secretary of the Ministry
of Higher Education. It was followed by the
Executive Committee Chair’s and the OQN Treasurer’s
reports. The members later discussed sponsorship
fees and proposed amendments to the OQN Guidelines. The
meeting ended with the election of the new members
of the Executive Committee comprising of seven
members. Mrs. Annie Lajinian was elected
to be one of the members of this committee and
will have delegated authority to conduct the operational
business of the OQN. The OQN will work hand in
hand with other partners in the sector to advance
the quality of higher education in Oman
