Major Abdullah Husain Saif

As part of the activities that take place all over the Gulf during the GCC “Traffic Week”, Dhofar University invited Major Abdullah Husain Saif, Head of Administrative and Financial Affairs in the Royal Oman Police Headquarters in Saada to give a presentation on road safety on the 18th of March, 2007. The topics centered on the concept of the “Caution is Safety” logo for Traffic Week this year and the importance of cooperation among the GGC countries to help prevent unnecessary car accidents. Major Abdullah also presented the statistics of accidents, deaths, injuries and their causes. He told those present that in 2005 Oman had the highest number of traffic accidents per capita in the world, a fact which indicates that Omani people are not cautious enough on the road. He encouraged the students and staff who attended the presentation to spread the advice he had given them, and to be extra careful when driving.
