Dr. Ahmed Al Mashani, Ass’t. to the President for Student Affairs invited the new students at DU to an introductory meeting in Ibn Rushd Hall on Wednesday the 6th of December. He and each of the staff members of Student Affairs welcomed them to the university and introduced the services that are offered by each section. Mr. Asim Bamkhalif, Student Services Officer, Mr. Salem Al Hafeedh, Student Counsellor, Mr. Ahmed Ma’roof, Supervisor of the Drama and Theatre Group, Mr. Mubarak Al Muqadam, Supervisor of the Cultural Activities Dept., Ms. Watheeqa Bait Saeed, Career Guidance Officer, and Ms. Ameera Al Helo, Educational Advisor, each spoke about his/her section and encouraged the students to participate in student activities organized by Student Affairs such as cultural, art, and theatrical activities. Mr. Ahmed Ma’roof gave a moving speech about creativity in Drama and invited the students to participate in the theatre activities that he organizes for the different events both inside and outside the university. Mr. Mubarak Al Muqadam also explained his role as the Supervisor of the Cultural Activities Dept., and acquainted the students with the different divisions of the Department. When the staff members had finished giving their pep talks, the students were given a chance to ask questions
