First Secretary of American Embassy Visits Dhofar University

Mr. Alfred F. Fonteneau with Dr.Mohammad Faour The First Secretary of the Embassy of the United States of America, Mr. Alfred F. Fonteneau, and an accompanying delegation were welcomed by Prof. Mohammad Faour, Vice Chancellor of Dhofar University, on the 16th of July. Subjects of common interest were discussed during the visit, which had been preceded by the recent visit of the Ambassador himself, Mr. Gary Grappo. The visit by Mr. Fonteneau meant that subjects such as how to best serve the interests of local students were touched on again, as a follow up to Mr. Grappo’s visit.Mr. Fonteneau was taken on a tour of the present campus, during which he said he was impressed by the high standards that had already been achieved by the University. He also admired the model of the new campus, which will be built in an area nearby that is slated for rapid development.
