As a strong gesture of friendship and cooperation between SQU and DU, the Vice Chancellor of Sultan Qaboos University visited the temporary premises of Dhofar University on May, 2008.  Accompanied by his Deputy for Administration and Finance Dr. Hamad Assalmi, Dr. Ali bin Saud AlBimani SQU Vice Chancellor met with DU Vice Chancellor Professor Muhammad Ali Faour who gave his guests a brief overview of the history of the University, its current programs, and future plans.  There was a useful exchange of information about the experiences of SQU and DU regarding programs and administrative rules and regulations.  The guests toured the temporary facilities and visited a language laboratory then headed for the construction site of the new campus.  At that site, they observed the progress and quality of work, wishing DU a prosperous future. Both parties expressed interest in furthering the friendly relations and cooperation between the two universities in a number of areas.
