Dean of Salalah College of Technology, Dr. Kashoob Inaugurated a Book Fair at Dhofar University
Today at DU, Dr. Hassan bin Said Kashoob, Dean of Salalah College of Technology, inaugurated a book fair. The book fair is organized by the Office of Public Relations and held at the main hall of the College of Arts and Applied Sciences. The inauguration was attended by the deans of DU colleges and a number of the university staff and students. The book fair will last for two weeks. It will be open during the weekdays from 9a.m to 4 p.m. It includes about 3000 books by seven publishers. The Office of Information and Public Relations arranged with Salalah College of Technology, Salalah College of Applied Sciences, and Directorate General of Education in Dhofar to visit the fair and recognize what is new in this Book Fair.
Prof. Muhammad Ali Faour, DU Vice Chancellor, says 'the idea of holding the Fair is brilliant; we start it this year and we will support it and hold it every year in coordination with Salalah College of Technology and that of Applied Sciences in Salalah. Ali Al Awaid, the librarian in DU, says that holding this Fair will assist students and professors to know about sciences and knowledge and to compare them with the books they study at the university. We invited all staff to visit the Fair to choose useful books to be bought by the University. Bekheet bin Salim Masan, Salalah College of Technology Librarian, pointed out that Dr. Hassan Kashoob, the College Dean, directed students as well as staff to visit the fair to suggest the titles of the books to be bought. Mr. Masan added that DU is used to such activities and symposia throughout the year- something that helps in building the students character in DU and it fulfils its role in the civic community in Dhofar Governorate..
