Continuing Education Center in DU offers courses for the year 2009 on Networks, and another for accountants and a third for teaching Spanish among others within this year’s plan.
Continuing Education Center (CEC) in DU announces the new plan for the year 2009 where it offers a number of courses and programs targeting different kinds of people. Tayyeb ElFeel, CEC in DU says: the center represents one of the main pillars in developing the employees level in both the public and the private sectors in Dhofar governorate let alone rehabilitating individuals seeking job opportunities in different fields. The center organized 44 programs on English Language teaching, computer, business administration, engineering programs and specialized programs.
Within the framework of the latter programs carried out by the CEC, the center started a course on SISCO networks. DU is considered the only and exclusive agent appointed by Dhofar governorate representing SISCO international company for training to get this certificate by following a curriculum including four basic programs starting with the principles of networks and then kinds of networking followed by ways of networking and finally the protocols of networks. SISCO center in DU offers opportunities for practical training via interactive and easy methods in labs to help candidates to learn the general theory and the needed practice for network building. It is worth mentioning that this program is designed for students and applicants who have basic knowledge in computers and information technology.
Recently DU launches the course of rehabilitation to get the certificate of ACPA within the cooperation framework between the center and the Omani Arab Center for Administrative Training (Talal Abu Ghazala for vocational training); this course is held in DU for the second time. The course started with a speech by DR Subhi Mohammed Saleh, chair of the department of Accounting and Finance in the college of Commerce and Administrative Sciences in DU in which he presented a detailed explanation of the course and its objectives and how to pass it and get the fellowship assuring that DU will make available the needed climate to study and succeed. Talking about this he also highlighted the importance of the qualified accountant in the accounting profession in both the public and the private sector.
Mr. Tayyeb ElFeel CEC in DU presented the topics of the course and a brief idea about the instructors CV’s and the course timing. The course includes 8 scientific papers among them are Organizational knowledge and Knowledge of Accounting, Omani Commercial Law, Information Technology and knowledge of the English language. The course will last till the 30th of November 2009 from half past four p.m. to half past seven p.m. A number of prominent accountants participate in the course representing different bodies such as Dhofar Municipality, Office of Dhofar governor and AlKhalij Transport Company. At the level of the activities, the center is preparing to start with a number of training activities:

A preparation course for those interested in job opportunities, which will be carried out in coordination with Muscat Center for Human Resources Development, Spanish Language for the first time in Dhofar governorate. Understandings continue with Salalah Methanol Company to carry out a program for auto skills development for 16 engineers and technicians in the company and cooperation between the university and the company will continue in the future to carry out distinguished programs.
