The Continuing Education Centre at DU Offers a Spanish Language Course

The Continuing Education Center (CEC) at Dhofar University (DU) provides access to the educational resources of the University and offers quality educational programs to meet the ongoing professional and personal needs of Dhofar’s adult community at large. It offers solutions to training needs and provides its community with the combined support of a professional staff and the many resources of DU. On-campus and off-campus offerings include certificate programs, workshops, seminars, conferences, and customized training programs designed to meet the needs of individuals and organizations. All CEC’s certificate programs, workshops, and other activities are taught by leading experts who bring their hands-on experience to the classroom. Programs and courses are offered in English or Arabic as reflected by the course outline. Mr. Eltayeb Elfeel, the Manager of the CEC said that the Spanish Language Program in addition to English and Arabic for non-Arabic speakers programs are all offered at the centre. This program aims to teach the most frequently used vocabulary and grammatical structures and to offer opportunities for participants to practice Spanish using the four skills of speaking, listening, reading and writing. It is taught by a native speaker of Spanish, Mr. Eduardo Lopez, instructor at the Foundation Program. The course will last for 6 weeks, five teaching hours per week (i.e., a total of 30 hours) and it costs 100 O.R. there is a 50% discount for the university faculty and staff. There are about 12 participants enrolled in this course. After successful completion of this beginners’ level, the participants shall proceed to the upper levels.
