Dhofar University was honored yesterday in a ceremony honoring all the field and administrative groups that worked in the Overseeing Office for the Governorates of Salalah, Rakhyout and Dhalkout on the occasion of the completion of all field work for the General Census of people, houses and buildings for 2010 under the Patronage of H.E. Sheikh Suhail Bin Ahmad Jaaboob Member of the Shawra Council and the Representative of the Governorate of Salalah.

Dr. Adel Bin Awad Al Hadhari, the Supervisor of the project of the Census in the Center of the Governorates of Salalah, Rakhyout and Dhalkout said that the Sultanate completed the operation of conducting the census that included three simultaneous enumerations, within the context of one single program covering people, houses and buildings.

Mr. Al Hadhari praised the efforts that were made by the Administration of the census and the resources that were utilized to reach the goals of the census, which included providing vital information for planners and other responsible people in the Sultanate for the sake of economic and social development and to help distribute services and public offices in a planned way, in addition to providing data for conducting scientific studies and providing services for improving living conditions.

After that H.E. Sheikh Suheil honored the groups that made the success of this operation possible and presented certificates of appreciation to members of the field teams of the census in the Overseeing Office for the Governorates of Salalah, Rakhout and Dhalkout.

It should be emphasized that Dhofar University is committed to working with the local community and placing all its facilities in the service of national projects.
