Deputy Ambassador of the United Kingdom Embassy to the Sultanate at DU
The Deputy Ambassador of the United Kingdom Embassy and the acting ambassador, Helen Gates paid their first visit to DU and met Dr. Hussain Yaghi, Dean of College of Arts and Applied Sciences and acting Vice Chancellor, where they discussed the aspects of cooperation between the university and the embassy. Then Dr. Yaghi introduced the university and talked about the university's mission, objectives and vision. He also talked about majors, programs and projects that the university offers to activate its students role of serving the community. After that, he gave them a brief envisioned of the new campus project from the first steps until now. Both sides also discussed aspects of cooperation in cultural and student exchange in a way of exchanging academic experts with the British universities. In addition to finding new methods to form agreements, cooperating projects and understanding memorandums to support the embassy's and DU's desire in having cooperative relations in the fields of culture, sociology and scientific in the near future. |
