 Dhofar University campus construction contracts reach RO 25 million

Dhofar University celebrated the signing of an agreement for the construction of the third part of the first phase of the new University campus yesterday morning. The newly signed agreement is for the construction of the male and female student hostels, in addition to villas for academic and administrative staff at the University. The document was signed by HE Sheikh Mustahail bin Ahmed Al Mashani, Head of the Board of Trustees and Ahmed bin Abdullah Muqaibal, Head of the Board of Directors of Dhofar University Company. Present at the event were members of the Board of Trustees and Board of Directors as well as the Acting Vice Chancellor.

The first part of the new agreement is for the building of two hostels for female students which will contain around 270 single rooms, as well as reception halls, recreation rooms, offices and accommodation for hostel supervisors. There will also be basketball, volleyball and badminton courts and parking areas. The second part of the agreement concerns the building of male hostels which will have approximately 134 single rooms as well as amenities identical to the female hostel facilities, such as reception halls, etc. A number of villas for academic and administrative staff will also be constructed on the campus. The total amount of this agreement is approximately five million, seven thousand Omani Rials, which brings the total amount of the construction agreements signed so far to over 25 million OR.
