A delegation from Petroleum Development Oman Company visited Dhofar University to discuss possible cooperation on Wednesday, May 13 , 2009. The meeting was attended by Dr. Farid Chaaban, Dean of the College of Engineering at DU, Dr. Heba Hassan, Acting Chair of Chemical Engineering Department, Dr. Yousef Gharbia, Chair of Mechanical Engineering Department, Dr. Issam Damaj, Chair of Electrical and Computer Engineering Department, Dr. Ibrahim Najjar, Director of Office of Admissions and Registration, Mr. Ghassan El-Kilani, Assistant Director for Registration and Mr. Ali Al-Maalam, Director of the Office of Information & Public Relations. As for the delegation from Petroleum Development Oman Company, it included nine people. The purpose of the visit was to know about the available specializations and academic programs at the College of Engineering, particularly those needed by the PDO Company.
The PDO Company's visit to DU is one of the visits that the company is paying to a number of universities and colleges to discuss the possibility of making them benefit from its services through the Developing and Learning Centre of the company.
