DU
hosted Mr. Mohammad Bin Ahmad Al Dheeb, Chief Executive Officer
of Raysout Cement Company in a lecture entitled “the Experience
of Raysout Cement Company in Strategic Administration”. The
College of Commerce and Business Administration has organized
this lecture as part of the practicum in strategic
administration which all students of the program must
participate in to gain experience and test their theoretical
knowledge in Administration.
The
lecturer explained how the Rayout Cement Company was established
and what were its beginnings like, indicating that ‘Strategic
Administration’ is one of the terms that gained a wider
circulation because many institutions use Strategic
Administration to analyze their internal and external
environments. He dealt with several definitions of Strategic
Administration and reached the conclusion that Strategic
Administration aims at bringing together the functions of
administration, finance, marketing, production, research and
development and management information services in order to lead
the company to success. Having elaborated the differences
between long term and short term goals and strategies, the
lecturer explained how Raysout Cement Company used Strategic
Administration as a model in administration to implement certain
strategic choices that synchronized the resources of the company
with the skills and functions of the people and other related
technological systems.
At
the end of the lecture, Dr. Subhi Saleh the Acting Dean of the
College of Commerce and Business Administration thanked the
lecturer for accepting the invitation of the College and
explained that the College has always sought to be close to its
local community and interact with it through lectures, seminars
and conferences that it organizes throughout the academic year
as part of its strategic vision. After that he opened the floor
for question and answer, since the lecture of Mr. Al Dheeb is
part of the practicum entitled “Visiting Lecturers” which
involves discussion and dialogue with the audience.
