Dhofar University Participates in "Managing in the New World Order" Symposium

 

Dr Syed Ahsan Jamil, chairman department of accounting and finance, represented Dhofar University at a two day international symposium on –‘Managing in the New World Order: strategies for sustainable business development, organised by College of Applied science at Sur on 20-21 February 2010.

The main focus area of the symposium was to bring together experts, researchers and industry professionals in the area of commerce and business to dwell upon strategies for sustainable business development.

The participants discussed at length the important issues in the changing world order and the role of Oman. Various suggestions were discussed as to what is sustainable development in the present era. The symposium saw many researches on Oman dealing with the possible sustainable strategies for Oman.

The conclusion of the symposium was that ‘diversification of the economy is the road ahead for Oman in this new world order’. All participant agreed that Oman as a country has vast and rich resources which needs to be exploited for its development. Over 60 delegates from 7 countries participated in the symposium.
