The College of
Commerce and Business Administration and the Office of
Information and Public Relations at Dhofar University are
organizing a seminar entitled “Experience and Successes of Women
and Men in Business” in the Governorate of Dhofar on Sunday
November 15 under the patronage of HE Sheikh Salim Bin Oufait
Bin Abdullah Al Shanfari Head of Dhofar Municipality, in Ibn
Rushd Hall on the temporary premises of Dhofar University.
Dr. Subhi Saleh, Acting Dean of the College of Commerce and
Business Administration at Dhofar University, said that
organizing this seminar on the experiences and successes of both
women and men in business in the Governorate of Dhofar comes as
a result of the implementation of Dhofar University’s objective
to establish a mutual and continuing relationship between the
University, the business sector and the community in the
Governorate of Dhofar in particular. We would like to thank HE
the Head of Dhofar Municipality for honouring this seminar with
his patronage, adding that in this seminar we will be exposing
the experiences and successes of business women and men in the
Governorate of Dhofar, emphasizing the importance of small and
medium sized projects and the roles they play in the development
of the
country and finding
jobs for citizens. Furthermore, their positive reflections on
the economic and social development in the Sultanate is
portrayed through continued government support for small and
medium sized projects and the successes that “Sanad” project has
achieved. |

The seminar will
concentrate on the importance of small and medium projects and
their future influence on the activities and the economic
sectors whether from the economic or service sides and its role
in encouraging Omani youth to invest their scientific and
professional energies in these small and medium projects.
Dr. Mohammed Ali
Suleiman will be moderating the discussion and Amna Bint
Muhammad Al Rawas, the Head of the Forum of Business Women in
the Governorate of Dhofar will participate in the Seminar along
with Miryam Bint Ahmad Ba Lhaf Vice Head of the Forum of
Business Women in the Governorate of Dhofar, Muhammad A
Mashikhi Director of the Office of “Sanad” Project, Abdel Rashid
Outhman Omar, Director of Oman Development Bank, in the
Governorate of Dhofar, Dr. Subhi Saleh the Acting Dean of the
College of Commerce and Business Administration at Dhofar
University and Amal Al Kathiri, one of the successful examples
of “Sanad” project.
