Registration
starts at Dhofar University for the Second Semester

Dhofar University is now receiving applications for registration
for the second semester of the academic year 2010-2011 for all
specializations in all the colleges. Registration for the
diploma and the bachelor programs continues until February 9,
2011, whereas registration for the Master’s programs ends on the
second of February, 2011.
Dhofar University has three colleges. The College of Arts and
Applied Sciences offers the following specializations on the
diploma and bachelor levels: Mathematics, Social Work, and
Computer Ccience, but it offers only bachelor degrees in
Translation and the following tracks in Education: Mathematics,
English Language, Information Technology and Computer Science.
The College offers Master’s degrees in Curriculum and
Instruction: Teaching English Language and Educational
Administration.
The College of Commerce and Business Administration offers the
following specialization on the diploma and the bachelor levels:
Accounting, Finance, Marketing, Management Information Systems
and Insurance, but it offers one Master’s program in
Administration.
The College of Engineering offers specializations on the diploma
level in Chemical Engineering, Electrical and Computer
Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Interior Architecture and
Graphic Design. It offers bachelor degrees in Chemical
Engineering, Computer and Communication Engineering, Electrical
and Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Software
Engineering, Mechatronics, Interior Architecture and Graphic
Design.
Dhofar University celebrated the opening of its new and
permanent campus last November under the Patronage of His Royal
Highness Al Sayyid Shihab Bin Tareq Al Said, Advisor to His
Majesty the Sultan and the Chairman of the Council of Scientific
Research. The total expenses of building the new campus were
about 30 million Omani Riyals and Dhofar University was the
first university to take advantage of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos
generous donation to private universities.
