Guidelines for Online Assessment (Spring 2019-2020)

UNDERGRADUATE PROGRAMS

A)  Division of Assessment

  • 3 quizzes of 10 marks each (10 + 10 + 10 = 30)
  • 2 Assignments of 10 marks each (10 + 10 = 20)
  • Class participation 10 marks
  • Final Exam 40 marks

(If first test for 20 marks is already conducted then one quiz and one assignment will be reduced and the first test grades counted instead)
B)  General Guidelines for all Undergraduate exams

  1. Conduct of Exam
  • Number of attempts for each quiz shall be 3 times
  • Ideally quizzes should consist of MCQs only ranging between 5 to 10 questions
  • Each quiz shall be open for 3 days for students to attempt
  • Language of questions should be simple and clear for students
  • Time duration for each assessment shall be double the normal time
  • Portion on which exam is to be taken to be announced by the faculty to the students for each exam well in advance

      2. Class participation

10 marks should be allocated for class participation as per following guidelines:

  • Students completing 4 out of 6 assessments to get full 10 marks
  • Students completing 3 out of 6 assessments to get 9 marks
  • Students completing less than 3 out of 6 assessments to get 8 marks

      3. Ramadan Schedule

  • Ramadan schedule to be announced by DARSA by next week

 

MASTER PROGRAMS

A ) Division of Assessment

  • 2 Assignments of 15 Marks each (15 + 15 = 30)
  • Class participation 10 marks
  • Midterm exam 20 marks
  • Final Exam 40 marks

B) General Guidelines

  • General guidelines for Postgraduate Programs shall be same as Undergraduate programs given in point B earlier.
