\nIt is a great pleasure to welcome you to visit Dhofar University one of the most vibrant and progressive university of Sultanate of Oman. Every academic year is another challenging year and we at Dhofar University (DU) are continually striving to ensure excellence in academic delivery, impactful research and active community outreach, with the goal of educating Gen-Next. One such great step in the opening of our college of medicines which is offering MD program, the only in the region.<\/p>\n

DU aims to provide all students with an educational experience that will not only enrich their life forever but also meet the expectations of employers and the nation. DU through its academic programs continually endeavour to ensure quality teaching and learning by adopting and implementing new pedagogies, methodologies and practice with specific focus on usage of educational technologies including AI. In order to ensure international standards of teaching at DU, academic staff are encouraged to acquire fellowship of the Advance HEA, UK and the number of such fellowship is increasing every year.<\/p>\n

DU is already accredited from OAAAQA<\/a> the national accreditation authority as well as our College of Commerce and business administration is accredited by AACSB<\/a>(USA) and College of Arts and Applied Science by AQAS<\/a>(Germany), thus ensuring that our academic programs, teaching and learning approach and practices are of international standards. Continuous improvement is and will remain our main driving force.<\/p>\n

DU research credential is impressive with our faculty members excelling in research and the numbers of article per faculty reached 2.2 per faculty. Citation per faculty also reached 5 per faculty and the total publication indexed in Scopus and Web of Sciences ever increasing. Our faculty are featuring in the Stanford University list of top 2% scientist in the world every year.<\/p>\n

Students research has been the hallmark of DU with many students wining international awards. Faculty is continuously securing grants for research projects from The Research Council (TRC) and the number of registered patents is on the rise. DU established a Research Centre which has made significant achievement in the field of Frankincense Research and has filed patents for commercialization of pharmaceutical products for ailment like inflammation, rheumatoid, and food supplement using frankincense.<\/p>\n

DU achieved a remarkable feat by being ranked in QS University World Rankings and is continually being ranked in top 100 universities in the Arab Region in both QS Rankings and THE Rankings.<\/p>\n

I invite students, parents, employers, corporate houses, governmental institutions as well as researchers to explore what DU has to offer through our website pages and discover all academic programs, students\u2019 achievements and our research activities and expertise.
