Salalah \u2013 June 16, 2025<\/strong><\/p>\n

In a strategic move reflecting Oman\u2019s growing focus on institutional collaboration and engineering advancement, Dhofar University\u2019s College of Engineering and the Oman Society of Engineers (headquartered in Muscat) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at enhancing joint efforts in engineering education, scientific research, and the professional development of students and engineers.<\/p>\n

The agreement was signed on Monday, June 16, 2025, in the presence of academic and professional representatives from both sides. The MoU was officially signed by Professor Amer bin Ali Al-Rawas, Vice Chancellor of Dhofar University, and Engineer Fouad bin Abdullah Al-Kindi, Chairman of the Oman Society of Engineers. The signing was organized under the direction of Dr. Issam Al-Bahdoor, Dean of the College of Engineering, and Dr. Lamiaa Mostafa Abd-Rabo, from the Department of Architectural Engineering.<\/p>\n

Professor Al-Rawas emphasized that the agreement is part of the university\u2019s broader strategy to strengthen ties with community institutions and bridge academic learning with real-world application.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are proud to serve as a bridge between theoretical knowledge and practical experience, which will enrich education quality and foster new avenues for innovation and partnership,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Engineer Al-Kindi described the partnership as a milestone in the Society\u2019s ongoing journey.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are committed to empowering Omani engineers through research and training initiatives that enhance readiness and align with the goals of Oman Vision 2040.\u201d<\/p>\n

Dr. Al-Bahdoor highlighted the importance of the MoU in aligning academic outcomes with labor market needs:<\/p>\n

\u201cThis collaboration opens real opportunities for our students to engage with industry and acquire modern applied skills.\u201d<\/p>\n

The agreement includes cooperation on conferences, training programs, applied research, and participation in national and international engineering events. It also introduces the \u201cOSE Graduation Project Award\u201d, which will recognize outstanding final-year projects by engineering students across Oman.<\/p>\n

A joint executive committee, chaired by Dr. Lamiaa Mostafa, will oversee the implementation of initiatives and ensure alignment with both parties\u2019 strategic goals.<\/p>\n

This partnership demonstrates the College of Engineering\u2019s commitment to institutional growth and national engagement, while reinforcing the Oman Society of Engineers\u2019 role as a leading platform for advancing the engineering profession and empowering national talent.<\/p>\n\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n
