On February 29th, 2024, the department

of Architectural Engineering, College of

Engineering participated in the “National

Policies and Standards for Urban

Planning and the Regulatory Framework

for Planning Controls” workshop. The

workshop was organized by the General

Directorate for Housing and Urban

Planning in Dhofar. The session involved

the participation of students from the

Architectural Engineering Department

under the supervision of Architect Lamia

Mostafa, a lecturer in the Architectural

Engineering Department. The workshop

enabled students to gain awareness on

national urban planning policies,

standards, and planning controls.This

experience aimed to enhance students’

understanding of planning controls and

contexts. It reflects the department’s
