Admission Requirements
Applicants must hold a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in law (or equivalent), with
a minimum grade of “Very Good.” Applicants with a “Good” grade at the master’s
level may also be considered if they have at least five years of relevant professional
experience. Admission also requires passing a personal interview and a written test.
Selection is based on a comprehensive evaluation including undergraduate and
postgraduate GPAs, as well as interview and test performance.
The program will be delivered in Arabic and requires the completion of 90 credit
hours over a period of no less than three years (six semesters) and no more than
six years (twelve semesters). It aims to qualify legal researchers through in-
depth study aligned with contemporary legal developments, while
also promoting scientific output through research publication
and participation in specialized academic conferences.
In a statement, Professor Ahmed Mohammed Ahmed
Al-Zain, Dean of the College of Law, emphasized that
the program comes at a time of rapid legislative
developments, necessitating the preparation of
legal professionals capable of addressing both
academic and professional challenges. He added
that the program reflects the college’s commitment
to fostering an advanced research-based academic
environment that supports innovation and leadership
in the legal field.
Graduation Requirements
To graduate, students must pass all coursework with
a minimum average of 75%, publish a research
paper in a peer-reviewed academic journal,
present a paper at a scientific conference,
and successfully defend their doctoral
dissertation.

within the Sultanate of Oman and
beyond.
