Located in the beautiful city of Salalah, Sultanate of Oman, you can embark on an innovative experience in higher education with Dhofar University’s Centre for Preparatory Studies (CPS). The Centre is seeking passionate and talented individuals to join its academic teams.

Position Title: Instructor/Lecturer – Part Time
Area: اللغة الإنجليزية
Salary and rank: Salary and rank are commensurate with education and experience.
Appointment type: Academic Part Time.

Responsibilities and Expectations:

The Instructor/Lecturer will be part of the Academic department with the following responsibilities.

Teaching FP-level courses
Demonstrated potential for teaching excellence
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to develop and deliver new learning methods with the ability to foster a student-centered learning environment
Proficiency in relevant technologies and passion for educational innovation

Eligibility Conditions for Instructor/Lecturer:

The candidate should meet the following requirements:

Omani candidate

The candidate’s bachelor’s and master’s degrees are in the same field of study specialization as that of the advertised job.
The bachelor’s degree GPA is not less than 2.5 on a 4-point scale.
The master’s degree GPA is not less than 3.2 on a 4-point scale.
Candidates must have at least two years of higher education teaching experience in اللغة الإنجليزية at recognized institutions of higher education.
In case of no teaching experience the candidate should have a valid minimum IELTS (academic) score of 6.5

Non-Omani candidate

Candidates to teach English in the CPS must have outstanding command of the English language (minimum IELTS Band 7.0)
A full-time MA in English, TEFL, TESL, linguistics, or a related field with a GPA of 3.2 or higher, and a BA in a related subject;
At least three years’ teaching experience at the post-basic level after having completed their MA. A CELTA or TEFL/TESOL certificate is required for candidates whose MA or BA is not directly related to teaching English. Candidates without these qualifications will not be considered.

a full-time M.Ed. in education technology with a minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4-point scale or a full-time MA in computer science or information systems, with a minimum GPA of 3.0, and a BA in the same field with at least three years’ teaching experience at the post-basic level after having completed their MA.
Candidates must have at least two years of higher education teaching experience in IT at recognized institutions of higher education.
In case of no teaching experience the candidate should have a valid minimum IELTS (academic) score of 6
