The Department of Civil Engineering at Dhofar University is seeking applications for a full-time Assistant Professor faculty position commencing in Spring 2026 (February). Applicants should hold a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering with a specialization in Structural Engineering from a reputable university. The appointed candidate will mainly teach courses in Statics, Strength of Materials, Construction Materials, Geotechnical Engineering, Structural Analysis I, Structural Analysis II, Concrete I, Concrete II, Steel Design, Numerical Methods and Foundation Engineering. Furthermore, the faculty member will be required to contribute to other teaching in subjects related to structural engineering, thus, proficiency in related subjects is essential.

Eligibility Conditions:

The applicant should fulfill the following eligibility conditions to be considered for the position.

Demonstrated involvement in research and scholarly activities, with recent publications.
Practical experience gained form working in the civil engineering industry.
Teaching experience at the university level for a minimum of 3 years.
Proficient English language skills, both written and verbal.
Dedication to delivering high-quality instruction, incorporating impactful educational methods.
Familiarity with ABET accreditation and institutional standards assessment.
Willingness to collaborate with colleagues across various disciplines.

The candidate must hold a full-time PhD in Cybersecurity or Computer Science with a concentration in Cybersecurity from a university recognized by MOHERI.
The candidate’s Master’s degree cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA) should be no less than 3.20 on a 4-point scale.
Candidates must have at least two years of higher education teaching experience in Cybersecurity at recognized institutions of higher education, post-PhD.
Preference will be given to those with significant contributions to scientific research and published work in Cybersecurity field.
Candidates must have at least two (2) papers published in recognized peer-reviewed journals. These papers must not be derived from the candidate’s Master’s thesis.
The candidate should be under 45 years of age as of the appointment date.

Applications are invited for the post of Research Assistant (RA) at the Department of Mechanical & Mechatronics Engineering, College of Engineering, Dhofar University, Salalah, Oman to work on an Industrial project, entitled “Using Recycled Asphalt Concrete (RAC) for sustainable pavement in Dhofar Governorate” under the supervision of Dr. Paul C. Okonkwo.

Familiarity with sample preparation, mix design, and mechanical testing.
Origin Software, MS Excel, and statistical tools for data processing.
Literature review using academic databases (ScienceDirect, Scopus, etc.)
Data analysis and interpretation.
Report writing and documentation
Working in Dhofar’s climate and road network condition

Responsibilities:

Conduct comprehensive literature reviews on Recycled Asphalt Concrete (RAC) technologies and Sustainability practices in pavement engineering
Collect primary and secondary Pavement samples data
Analyze mechanical, thermal, and environmental performance indicators of RAC mixes
Prepare recycled asphalt mix designs based on project criteria
Conduct laboratory testing, including Marshall Stability and Flow, Indirect Tensile Strength, Bitumen content analysis, and Moisture susceptibility tests.
Record, tabulate, and interpret results
Draft technical reports, progress updates, and contribute to the final project report
Document work and prepare research papers for publication.
