Dhofar University has an officially recognised labour union known as “Dhofar University Labour Union” (DULU), in which most of the faculty and staff, including women and expats are members. The existence of labour union ensures that the employees have freedom of association and labour rights are protected.
The DULU was founded in October 2010 and is a founding member of the General Federation of Oman Workers and the Education Sector Union.
DULU serves as a link between the Employees and the University Management, keeping in mind the improvements and developments of the labour community, which can only be achieved with everyone’s cooperation.
The DULU also represents the University’s employees and takes up their demands to the management. It organizes activities and events that would enhance the union’s role in the University.
The Office Bearers of DULU are shown below and were approved by Ministry of labour in October 2019 for a period of four (4) years as per Ministerial Decision 500/2018, Articles 13 and 14.
