Dhofar University Board of Trustees Meets

Chaired by his Excellency, Yousif bin Alawi Al Ibrahim (Retired Minister), Deputy Chairman of the Board of Trustees (BoT), the Board held its second ordinary meeting for the Academic Year 2024-2025 on Wednesday, 09 Dhul al-Qi’dah 1446H corresponding to 07 May 2025 and after deliberations of the scheduled agenda, it took appropriate decisions accordingly.

During the meeting, the Board received an update on the progress of work at the College of Medicine and expressed its satisfaction with the ongoing preparations. The Board also commended the University’s readiness to welcome the first batch of students to the College of Medicine in September 2025, God willing.

The Board of Trustees also valued the University’s efforts in securing UNESCO approval to establish the UNESCO Chair for Sustainable Development, aimed at promoting environmental sustainability at Dhofar University, recognizing this achievement as a pivotal step in the University’s ongoing dedication to fostering sustainable development and serving the environment.

The Board also received a comprehensive report on the visit of the Omani Authority for Academic Accreditation and Education Quality Assurance team to the University, which took place during the period from April 13 to 17, 2025, where the Board expressed its appreciation for the University’s dedication to maintaining the highest standards of quality and institutional academic accreditation.
