Ministry of Education Delegation Visits Dhofar University to Explore Innovative Student Projects

Dhofar University welcomed an educational delegation from the Ministry of Education, led by Mr. Badr bin Khalfan Al Abri, Head of the Life Skills Curriculum Section at the General Directorate for Curriculum Development, on September 17. The visit aimed to strengthen cooperation and facilitate the exchange of expertise in entrepreneurship and innovation.

The delegation was received by Dr. Syed Ahsan Jamil, Dhofar University Deputy Vice Chancellor, and also met with Dr. Muawiyah Al Ani, Dean of the College of Commerce and Business Administration, and Ms. Shahrazad Al Marhoon, Director of the University’s Entrepreneurship Center. The visit was coordinated by the Entrepreneurship Center at Dhofar University.

The program began with a meeting with Dr. Isa Musbah, Coordinator of the “Entrepreneurship – Innovation and Creativity” (ENTR 200) Course, along with the Course instructors. Both parties discussed the course’s objectives and its role in developing students’ skills and fostering creativity.

Students presented a series of outstanding entrepreneurial projects, including:

  • ServeEZ: A project developed as part of the Entrepreneurship and Innovation course.
  • Scencifier: An initiative that merges technology with creativity.
  • Homecare Oman LLC: A venture focused on providing innovative community solutions.

The delegation also reviewed projects from the university’s science incubator, such as:

  • Bioplastic: A project dedicated to environmentally friendly solutions.
  • Aoun Application: An innovative digital platform offering community services.

The program featured a working paper titled “Designing an Entrepreneurship Curriculum that Takes Individual Differences Among Students into Account,” presented by Dr. Samir Hamami, followed by an interactive discussion session.

The visit concluded with a field tour of the science incubator in the student activity building, where the delegation was introduced to the university’s innovation ecosystem, including research projects and emerging entrepreneurial ventures.

Through this visit, Dhofar University reaffirmed its commitment to nurturing innovation and entrepreneurship among its students, providing educational platforms and scientific incubators that help transform student ideas into practical projects serving the community and contributing to sustainable economic development.
