
Dhofar University Concludes its 7th High School Science Competition
Under the patronage of Dhofar University Vice Chancellor, Professor Amer bin Ali Al Rawas, the 7th High School Science Competition in Dhofar Governorate, organised by the College of Arts and Applied Sciences, concluded on Thursday, 9 April at Dhofar University, amidst an atmosphere characterised by a spirit of competition and scientific creativity.
This year’s competition saw the participation of 15 schools, which presented 41 science projects across a range of fields, including physics, chemistry, biology, mathematics, and computer science, reflecting the diversity of scientific interests and the wealth of ideas among the participating students.
The final results saw Al Saada Basic Education School take first place among government schools, followed by Umm Salim Al Ansari School in second place, whilst Sadah Basic Education School (Girls) came third. Among private schools, Salalah International School took first place, with the Indian School in Salalah coming second.
This competition forms part of Dhofar University’s commitment to supporting young scientific talent and fostering a culture of research and innovation among school students, thereby helping to prepare a generation that is aware and qualified to contribute to building a knowledge-based economy.
