
Dhofar University Explores Document Management System with National Records and Archives Authority
Dhofar University Vice Chancellor, Professor Amer bin Ali Al Rawas, welcomed on 19 April a delegation from the National Records and Archives Authority during an official visit aimed at strengthening cooperation and advancing records and archives management within the academic sector.
The delegation was led by Ahmed bin Saif Al Kiyumi, Director of the Monitoring and Technical Support Department, and Siba’ bin Nasser Al Rashidi, Financial Director. A comprehensive meeting was held with the University administration and specialists from the Records and Archives Department, where participants reviewed recent developments, addressed existing challenges, and explored strategies to enhance performance in line with national standards.
The visiting delegation underscored the vital role of records management departments in preserving institutional memory, improving organizational efficiency, and safeguarding documentary heritage. They highlighted the importance of adopting modern best practices and transitioning toward advanced digital systems.
Professor Al Rawas expressed his appreciation for the visit, reaffirming Dhofar University’s commitment to strengthening its administrative frameworks and improving records management processes to support institutional quality and reinforce principles of good governance.
This visit reflects the ongoing efforts of the National Records and Archives Authority to support educational institutions in developing records management systems that meet the latest professional and technical standards.
