College of Engineering held its first meeting for the College Advisory Council for the academic year 2023-2024.

Last week, the Advisory Council of the College of Engineering at Dhofar University held its first regular meeting for the academic year 2023-2024.

During the meeting, the strategic plan for the college for the years 2021-2026 was discussed, along with a review of the new degree plans that are aligned with the Oman Qualification Framework (OQF) and the Accreditation Board of Engineering and Technology (ABET).

The Council also addressed the college’s plan to introduce a Master’s program in Engineering Project Management. The meeting covered the college’s efforts to enhance its graduates by restructuring its training program, incorporating modern project-based learning methods, and strengthening the role of the college and student groups through community engagements.

In an effort to establish continuous communication channels between the college and its graduates, it was proposed to establish an alumni association. This association aims to facilitate the exchange of insights and suggestions, empowering graduates to contribute to the educational goals of the college.

The meeting was attended by Dr. Issam Al-Bahdoor, the dean of the college, along with representatives from various departments within the college, as well as from the public and private sectors.
