Dhofar University Law Team Students Advance to Final Round of National Legal Debate

The Dhofar University College of Law team has secured a place in the finals of the third edition of the Omani Legal Debate Competition for the 2025–2026 academic year. The event is hosted by the College of Law at Sultan Qaboos University and features six teams representing universities across Oman.

Dhofar’s team earned its spot in the final round following an outstanding performance marked by rigorous legal reasoning and articulate debate. The students showcased exceptional proficiency in legal analysis and argumentation, paving their way to the championship match. The final will take place on November 4, 2025, at Sultan Qaboos University, where Dhofar University will face off against A’sharqiyah University College of Law in a bid for first place.

The team is composed of Waad Mohammed Al Maamari, Ithar Khalaf Al-Juhouri, Maathir Khalifa Al-Maqbali, and Salem Ahmed Al-Jahfali, under the guidance of Dr. Ahmed Hasnia.

Notably, Dhofar University’s College of Law team finished as runners-up in last year’s competition (2024–2025), reaffirming its reputation for academic excellence and leadership in legal education among Omani institutions.
