
Indian Ambassador Visits Dhofar University to Discuss Cooperation in Education and Training
Prof. Amer bin Ali Al-Rawas, Vice Chancellor of Dhofar University, received His Excellency Shri G.V Srinivas, Ambassador of the Republic of India to the Sultanate of Oman, in his office on Thursday morning, July 24. The visit aimed to strengthen academic and research cooperation between the University and Indian educational institutions.
The two sides discussed prospects for cooperation in the fields of engineering, medicine, and trade, as well as the exchange of academic and research experiences between Dhofar University and its Indian counterparts. The University’s Vice Chancellor welcomed His Excellency the Ambassador, praising the strong educational ties between the Sultanate of Oman and the Republic of India, and stressing the University’s commitment to developing cooperation in academic programs and benefiting from India’s leading expertise in engineering and information technology. For his part, the Indian Ambassador expressed his pride in the visit and reaffirmed the Embassy’s interest in expanding cooperation with Dhofar University, particularly in technology, renewable energy, and scientific research. He also commended the University’s progress in these fields.
At the end of the meeting, the two sides stressed the importance of strengthening academic and research cooperation, organizing joint training programmers, and facilitating the exchange of academics, researchers, and students between Dhofar University and leading Indian educational institutions.
