
Preparations Intensify for 3ʳᵈ GenoBusiness Economic Forum in Salalah
Salalah–The organizing committee of the Third Economic Forum on Genetic Resources (3ʳᵈ GenoBusiness), scheduled for November 2–3 in the Governorate of Dhofar, continues its preparations for the highly anticipated event. The Forum is being organized by the Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Innovation, represented by the Oman Animal and Plant Genetic Resources Center (Mawarid), in partnership with Dhofar University.
During its latest meeting, held on Tuesday, October 8, 2025, at Dhofar University, the committee discussed key organizational matters and reaffirmed the Forum’s strategic importance in driving economic momentum. Official invitations have been extended to a wide range of government bodies and private sector stakeholders.
The committee underscored that these efforts reflect a broader commitment to showcasing Oman’s economic potential and attracting both local and international investment. The forum aligns with the goals of Oman Vision 2040, aiming to foster sustainable development through innovation and collaboration.
The 3ʳᵈ GenoBusiness will spotlight the economic value of biodiversity and genetic resources in Oman, promoting investment in knowledge-based and genetic industries. It seeks to bridge scientific research with entrepreneurial ventures and encourage partnerships that support the growth of a sustainable bioeconomy.
Scheduled to be heled at the Rotana Salalah Resort, the Forum will welcome innovators, entrepreneurs, and researchers from Oman and abroad. The program will revolve around four key themes: food, medicine, fashion industry, and sustainability. Attendees can expect engaging panel discussions, strategic coordination meetings, and a networking dinner designed to foster collaboration and exchange.
