The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) were adopted by the United Nations (UN) in 2015 as a universal call to action to end poverty, protect the planet, and ensure that by 2030 all people enjoy peace and prosperity.
Oman was among the world nations at the UN Summit in September 2015 to recognize and adopt the Sustainable Development Goals, becoming one of the member nations that agreed upon devoting all efforts to attain these goals.
Dhofar University fully endorses the commitment of Sultanate of Oman towards attaining these SDS. As such, DU has established a high-level committee Chaired by the Vice-Chancellor and composed of a number of senior members of the staff. These members of the committee are assigned responsibility for each of the 17 SDGs as shown below.
