Dhofar University celebrates Omani Women's Day 2025 under the slogan “Women are partners in development”

In a national event organized by several Dhofar University students under the supervision of the relevant authorities at the University, Dhofar University celebrated Omani Women’s Day on Sunday, October 19, 2025, themed “Women are partners in development,” under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Mona Al Saadoon, Dean of the College of Medicine.

The event began with Oman National Anthem and a recitation from the Holy Quran, followed by a speech on Omani Women’s Day, which emphasized the leading role of women in supporting the national development process and achieving the goals of Oman Vision 2040, inspired by the continuous support they receive from the wise leadership of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tariq Al Said-may Allah protect and preserve him.

The program included a number of cultural and artistic sessions, including a short video presentation on the journey of Omani women, and a theatrical sketch entitled “A Woman on Stage,” which highlighted women’s achievements in the fields of science, work, and society, as well as a singing segment, a digital painting exhibition, and an art exhibition reflecting the students’ creativity and artistic expressions of this precious occasion.

The event concluded with an award giving session for the participants in the artistic and cultural segments, while the second part featured sports activities in the female students’ hostel, embodying the spirit of interaction and positive participation among the students in an atmosphere of pride and appreciation for Omani women and their leading role in society.

Through this celebration, Dhofar University affirmed its constant keenness to empower women academically and professionally and to enhance their presence in the process of sustainable construction and development, in line with the principles of the modern Omani renaissance and the ambitious vision of the nation.
