Dhofar University Celebrates National Day

Dhofar University marked National Day on Thursday November 20 in an atmosphere of pride and joy. The celebration was attended by Dhofar University Vice Chancellor, Professor Amer bin Ali Al Rawas, Dr. Syed Ahsan Jamil, Deputy Vice Chancellor, along with faculty members, staff, and students, all united in honoring this timeless national occasion.

The university hosted a series of festive events, including visits to celebration sites across its colleges and administrative departments. During these visits, the Vice Chancellor and Deputy Vice Chancellor extended congratulations to students and staff, highlighting the values of loyalty, belonging, and devotion to Oman and its wise leadership. The program also featured expressive national performances that reflected pride in the nation’s remarkable journey of achievements.

On this occasion, Prof. Dr. Amer bin Ali Al Rawas stated: “National Day is a cherished occasion on which we proudly commemorate Oman’s journey and its renewed renaissance. We recall the values of sincerity and dedication instilled by His Majesty the Sultan; may Allah the Almighty protect and preserve him, in building a prosperous nation that takes pride in its people. As Dhofar University joins in this national joy, it reaffirms its commitment to its scientific and intellectual mission: preparing a conscious and capable generation that contributes to ongoing development while embodying the values of authentic Omani identity in both performance and behavior.”

He further emphasized that such celebrations strengthen the national spirit among students, instill values of loyalty and belonging, and deepen awareness of the vital role citizens play in serving their communities.

Students and staff expressed their appreciation for the leadership’s active participation, noting that the presence of senior management reflects the University’s care for all its members and fosters a positive, inclusive academic environment.

The event concluded with commemorative photographs and the distribution of symbolic gifts, creating a festive atmosphere that embodied unity under the banner of one nation.
