College of Arts and Applied Sciences Orientation Day

College of Arts and Applied Sciences Orientation Day

For the second time in row, students of the College of Arts and Applied Sciences welcomed the new students enrolled in the College after successfully completing the Foundation Programme and joining various disciplines in the College. The event, which was held in a friendly and interactive atmosphere, took place in the South Lobby of the College entrance, where the new students were acquainted with programmes offered in the six departments in the College. The senior students took an unconventional approach to disseminate information to their new counterparts about courses, study plans, and registration practices and systems by organizing two competitions on the best short film and designing the College logo. Providing the senior students with such an opportunity indicates the College management’s interest in engaging students to share experiences with each other.

Dr. Khalid Al Mashikhi expressed his deep happiness and appreciation for seeing students with a sense of societal responsibility, and a sincere desire to provide information to those who need it while demonstrating their keenness to promote the College and contribute to its mission. He also remarked that the success of the idea of this event which was launched last academic year, has motivated its organizing again this year in a different pattern. Moreover, the idea of orientation day has enabled students to refine their talents and experiences with their peers, as well as depart from a single idea of the source of information. In addition, the open space, the screen displayed and the questions asked were selected to communicate the information.
