Dhofar University Entrepreneurship Center announces winning projects in scientific incubators and new local and international strategic partnerships

Under the auspices of Shaikh Mohammed bin Ahmed Al Ghassani (Director of Small and Medium Enterprises Development Department in Dhofar Governorate) and in the presence of several board chairpersons, entrepreneurs, and directors of various public and private sectors in the local and regional labour market, Dhofar University Vice Chancellor, Professor Amer bin Ali Al Rawas signed four memorandums of understanding between the University, represented by Entrepreneurship Center, and representatives of the Center’s new local, regional and international partners, including the Hallt International Award, Udo Dubai, Madayn and the Omani Academy for Small and Medium Sized Enterprises. The Cooperation agreements included the provision of training services, the financing of entrepreneurial initiatives, and the establishment of supervisory courses for scientific incubators at Dhofar University Entrepreneurship Center. The Entrepreneurship Center also announced its new strategic partnership with the Sharjah Entrepreneurship Center. Shaikh Al Ghassani reiterated the role of the University in strengthening the regional and local role of the students of Dhofar University and opening new horizons for entrepreneurial ideas at all levels while sustaining its support. On his part, Professor Al Rawas also stressed the University’s commitment to its objectives in cooperating to train qualified projects and talents that can meet the labour market requirements in various fields. Miss Loujain Al Maghribi, (Director of the Entrepreneurship Center and Chairman of the Integration Committee with Industry at the College of Commerce and Business Administration) announced the winners and finalists of business incubators’ projects. It is worth mentioning that the Center received nearly 50 entrepreneurial ideas. The evaluation Committee of the Scientific Incubators assessed the projects and winners and finalists were selected. The winning first team was from the College of Engineering. It included: Mona Ahmed Habis, Mazuna Ali Ba lahaf, Rawan Mohammed Ghawa, Shaima Hamid Al Amri, Wafa Ahmed Jaboob, Naima Mohamed Ba Wazir, and Kholood Mubarak Al Al Saidi. The second winner was Ahmed Abdullah Al Amri of the College of Commerce. The third-ranking team included Iman Salem Al Mashani and Ghariba Musallam Al Mashani. The finalists were Amin Ahmad Ali Al Mashani, Fay Al Mashali, Fatima Kofan, Fatima Habis, Fatima Al Ibrahim, Aisha Ahmed, Munira Al Amri, and Ruya Al Yafi all from the College of Engineering. It is worth mentioning that these agreements are part of the University and the Entrepreneurship Center’s endeavour to build strategic partnerships with international institutions and promote the exchange of experiences and projects that will contribute to achieving the University’s entrepreneurship objectives. This contributes to the service of Omani society and the achievement of the goals associated with Oman’s Vision 2040.
